Susie is the daughter of James A. and Betty J (Haney) Russell. She is originally from Springfield, Ohio. She married the love of her life, John E. Byerly in 1980. They have two children, Shawn J. Byerly and Amber N. (Byerly) Goodman; six grandchildren, Santana P Byerly, Lestat I. Byerly, Aurora S. Byerly, James Goodman, John Goodman, and Dalton Goodman. She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren; brother, William Billy' A. Russell, aunts, uncles, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, aunts, and uncles. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved her family unconditionally, enjoyed billiards and motorcycle riding with her husband, taking selfies with her daughter and especially bug hunting with grandbaby John John. She loved walking the beach, listening to the ocean, and searching for seashells. She also enjoyed researching genealogy and oriental arts. Musically Madonna was her all time favorite. She loved to write in her diary and draw portraits of her family. A visitation will be held at Grand Strand Funeral Home Monday June 4, 2018 from 2-5pm.
