Thomas Obed Hill Jr., 56, of Conway, South Carolina departed this life on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018, unexpectedly, at his home.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Sallie Workman and a special aunt, Evelyn Powell. Mr. Hill was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent his career as a Master Electrician.

He was born on April 20th, 1961 in Madison, West Virginia, the son of the late Thomas Obed Hill Sr. and the late Maxie Peyton Hill. Mr. Hill attended Harts Creek High School in Harts, WV and graduated in 1979. He loved to participate in all types of sports.

He met and later married Yvonne Hearl Hill. They married on June 22, 1985 in Conway, SC. They divorced in November of 2006 and after eleven years of living apart, they rekindled their love for each other and were engaged to be married again.

Mr. Hill was an accomplished electrician and entrepreneur. He served his community as a member of the Shriner's Omar Pedalers, and had served his country in the Army Reserves. He held multiple callings in his church, and was the first Branch President of the Conway Branch, which met in his home for over eight months in 1991-92, until a suitable building was acquired.

Mr. Hill loved watching and coaching his children in all types of sports. He was an avid South Carolina Gamecock Fan - and always tried to purchase garnet colored vehicles to show his loyalty. He loved playing cards and games with family and friends. He was a jolly jokester who always had a friendly smile and warm hug for everyone he met. Mr. Hill never met a stranger.

Survivors include his fiancee and former ex-wife, Yvonne Hill of Conway, SC; and their two daughters, Courtney Hill of NC and Brittany Hill of Conway, SC, and their only son, Peyton Hill (Jesse Amick) of Chapin, SC; two sisters, Jackie (Phillip) Mann of Chapmanville, WV and Jessie Powell of Greenwood, SC; six+ grandchildren, (Courtney's daughters) Makayla and Mckenzley, (Brittany's sons) Brayden, Bryson, Braxton and Brandon, and Peyton's baby is scheduled to arrive at any moment; special uncle, John E. Powell of Florence, SC; a special aunt, Sue Hill Jackson of Harts, WV; special nieces T.J. Cooper and Jennifer Gore, and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

Family and and friends are invited to visit with the Hill family at 1:00 PM, just prior to the Memorial Service that will be conducted at 2:00 PM on January 13th, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 450 Dunn Short Cut Road, Conway, SC 29526 with Bishop Clayton Whitesides presiding.
