Virginia Stone King , of Surfside Beach , S . C . transitioned to her heavenly home on Novembe r 16 , 2020 with her family by her side . She was born to Daisy McAllister Stone and Robert Howard Stone , Sr . , on September 30 , 1931 in Charlotte , N . C . Virginia was the widow of her life - long love , Lewis ( Buddy ) King .

Virginia , Buddy and their four boys - Mitchell , Phillip , Gary and Michael moved from Charlotte to Surfside Beach in 1970 . She quickly made her mark in the community and soon began a career in the restaurant business until her retirement . Over the years she worked and managed the Surfside Pier Restaurant , Kingfisher in Garden City , Holiday Inn and Days Inn Restaurants in Surfside Beach .

She loved life . She loved people , sports , animals , adventures , and her family . S h e was preceded in death by her Mother and Father , Daisy and Howard Stone , her husband Buddy King and son , Phillip King of Surfside Beach , S . C . , Brother Robert Stone Jr . , of Charlotte , N . C . , and Richard Stone of Marion .

Virginia leaves to celebrate her life , h er sons , Mitchell King of Fort Mills , S . C . , G ary and Michael King of Surfside Beach , S . C . , Grand - daughters Shannon Minima of Atlanta , Georgia , Michelle King of Charlotte , N . C . , and grandson John Howard King and wife Mindy of Durham , N . C . , great grandchildren Alva and Cyrus , and her sister , Marie Stone Gibson of Lumberton , N . C . and host of nephews , family and friends .
