Walter (Walt) W. Waskewich, 66, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2024 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born July 19, 1957 in Bethesda, Maryland to Paul and Edith (Mamish) Waskewich. He married his longtime friend and love, Brooke N. Waskewich who preceded him in death in 2023 after a long battle with cancer. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brother Michael Alan Waskewich and his special Aunt Julia Mamish.
Walt is survived by his brother Paul Waskewich and Paul's children Karen (Waskewich) Boone (Erik) and Mark Waskewich (Lilly). He is also survived by his sister-in-law Phyllis (Waskewich) Richardson and her children Michael Waskewich, Jr. (Dolly), Phillip Waskewich and Julia (Waskewich) Ridgeway (Jacob), as well as many great nephews and nieces, cousins, and close friends.
Upon graduating from Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland. Walt embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. He moved to Rockville, Maryland where for over 20 years he worked at Jaguar. Walt's dedication to his profession resulted in him attaining the position of certified Jaguar master technician prior to his retirement. In his spare time, Walt loved working on cars, collecting coins and stamps, and World War II memorabilia. In 2014, he and Brooke moved to Myrtle Beach to live life to its fullest. As a happy, loving couple, they enjoyed walks on the beach, sunsets, and fishing.
Walt will be honored in a memorial service that will be announced at a later date.
