Heavens gates opened Friday evening, June 20th, 2025 for its new favorite angel, Wanda Delawn (Simonds) Foster. Born to Ken and Juanita Simonds, sister to Ronnie, Wanda grew up living in Burlington, NC. She was the light of day in a dark room. Her personality was big and she never met a stranger. She could and would talk to anyone and her creativity showed through in her fashion and hair styles that only enhanced her beauty. And beautiful she was.

She caught the eye of Freddie O'Neal Foster and they never looked back. The couple eloped young and had 64 years of married life together. Wanda and Fred had two children Fred Jr. and Jennifer Foster.

Wanda was raised to work hard and through her strength and resilience she was a successful businesswoman. She was raised in the church and above all God and her family were most important to her. She was fierce and protective, but always in the name of love for her family. She adored her children and then her grand children and even then her great-grandchildren. Wanda is loved and missed dearly by all those whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th at 2pm in the chapel at Grand Strand Funeral Home. 9020 Hwy 17 Bypass Murrells Inlet SC 29576.
